NORCET 11 AIR 118: Anet Cracked It From Kerala in English
She could not follow the Hindi-medium Mains sessions, so she built her preparation around the workbook instead. Five months, first attempt, AIR 118.

Quick answer: Anet secured All India Rank 118 in NORCET 11 Mains 2026 on her first attempt, from Kerala. She graduated from BCF College of Nursing, spent a year on NCLEX coaching and hospital work, and learned about NORCET through Instagram. She prepared for five months with no duty alongside, practising more than 12,000 questions — and did it while unable to follow the Hindi-medium Mains classes.
The language barrier, stated plainly
She was added to the Mains Mentorship Program but could not attend many of the classes:
I do not understand Hindi.
Where sessions mixed Hindi and English she could follow. Where they were fully Hindi, she could not.
Rather than drop the programme, she switched to the part of it that was language-independent: the workbook shared with the programme. That became her primary resource, and she revised it two or three times before the Mains despite the short window.
Why it worked, in her words: the notes were written concisely, which made them readable, and she could open the PDF on her phone whenever she had a moment.
A practical note she mentions: when workbook delivery lagged after a class, she chased the team with messages, and they would send it. Worth knowing if you are depending on the same material.
Ayushi Rakhasiya at AIR 20 worked around the same barrier from Gujarati, and is also in the top 20.
Five months, no job alongside
The opposite choice to Jigar Parmar at AIR 115, who prepared around a full-time CHC role. Both worked.
She finished her exams in the last week of March, learned about NORCET through Instagram, and started in May. She deliberately took no duty, dedicating five months to studying only.
Alongside NPrep she attended a local institute in Kerala taking classes in Malayalam.
A daily target borrowed from strangers
Where the number came from is unusually honest:
I followed nursing officers on Instagram who advised a minimum of 100 to 150 questions daily.
She adopted that as her own target.
| Test series questions | 11,914 |
| Total | 12,000+ |
| Daily target | 100 to 150 |
Note how modest that daily target is next to Sabha's 44,700 total or Jigar's 37,600. A sustained 100 to 150 a day for five months, done properly, produced AIR 118. Volume is not the only path.
Questions she answered wrongly went into an error book that she wrote out by hand.
The two questions that came back
Specific and checkable, which is what makes it credible.
An anaemia question about the 4T. She had got it wrong in the test series, and got it right in the Prelims.
A CVP measurement question on the phlebostatic axis. She describes it as the same question.
Her reaction in the hall:
I had done the same questions before and got them wrong at the time, but was able to correct them when it counted.
And the broader point she draws from it:
Mistakes themselves give you the experience. Focusing on a wrong answer is what makes it right the next time.
That is the mechanism behind every error book in this cohort, stated in one line.
Being from a state where few attempt it
She raises this herself, and it deserves airing.
She was genuinely afraid, having observed that most ranks come from the north — naming Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh — and wondering whether someone from Kerala could achieve the same.
She also notes that not many students in Kerala know about NORCET, and that most of her peers plan to go abroad after graduation rather than target a central government post at home.
Her answer to her own fear:
South Indian students are also doing wonders.
Her rank is the argument. Sabha at AIR 135, from Karnataka, raises the identical worry in her own interview.
Advice: be thorough, not just practised
On attempt number: she observed that most topper videos describe a second or third attempt, and wanted it on record that a first attempt is possible, dedicated to hard work.
Volume, then depth: solve as many questions as you can and do not stop at a number. But the main thing is to be thorough with the content.
Why thoroughness specifically: her reasoning is about NORCET 11's option design. She found the options very confusing — you can eliminate two, then stall between the remaining two. Command of the content is what breaks that tie.
That is the same two-option problem Nandini Das at AIR 484 describes, solved from the content side rather than the technique side.
What to take from AIR 118
- A language barrier is routable. Use the written material.
- 100 to 150 questions a day, sustained, is enough. AIR 118 on 12,000 total.
- Keep an error book by hand. Two of her recurring questions came from it.
- A first attempt is possible, whatever the interview genre implies.
- Elimination gets you to two options. Content breaks the tie.
Frequently asked questions
What rank did Anet get in NORCET 11? All India Rank 118 in NORCET 11 Mains 2026, on her first attempt, from Kerala.
Can you prepare for NORCET if you do not understand Hindi? Yes. She could not follow the fully Hindi Mains Mentorship sessions, so she used the programme's workbook as her primary resource instead, revising it two or three times before the Mains.
How many questions a day do you need for NORCET? She targeted a minimum of 100 to 150 questions daily, sustained over five months for a total of more than 12,000, and secured AIR 118.
Is it harder to crack NORCET from Kerala or South India? She was afraid it was, having observed that most ranks come from northern states and that few in Kerala know about NORCET. She secured AIR 118, and Sabha from Karnataka secured AIR 135 in the same cycle.
How do you choose between the last two options in a NORCET question? Her answer is thoroughness with the content. Elimination removes two options, but command of the material is what breaks the tie between the remaining two.
