STUDY GUIDE
How to prepare for B.Sc Nursing 1st year
First year sets the base for everything that follows. Here is what to focus on in semesters 1 and 2 and how to study for them.
Subjects that matter most later
Applied Anatomy, Applied Physiology and Nursing Foundation come back in every later year and in NORCET. Biochemistry and Nutrition are smaller papers but give easy marks when revised well.
A study routine that works
- Watch the lecture for a chapter the same week it is taught in college
- Do the chapter MCQs the next day and read the rationale for every wrong answer
- Keep one page of notes per chapter for revision before internals
- Draw and label diagrams for anatomy; they save time in theory papers
Before university exams
Revise from your one-page notes, then attempt topic tests. Practise writing short and long answers to time. Your university's previous papers show which topics repeat.
