Post Basic B.Sc Nursing guide: subjects, exams and careers
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is a two-year degree for nurses who already hold a GNM diploma and State Nursing Council registration. It upgrades a diploma to a degree and opens doors to NORCET, supervisory roles and M.Sc Nursing.

Why start govt-exam prep during Post Basic
Most Post Basic students already work on the wards, so time is short. Your clinical experience is an advantage in case-based questions, but exams like NORCET also test pharmacology, anatomy and community health in depth. A structured batch lets you revise those while you finish the degree.
Exams you become eligible for
AIIMS NORCET accepts Post Basic B.Sc Nursing graduates with registration, with no extra experience condition. You can also apply for RRB Nursing Superintendent, ESIC, DSSSB and state recruitments, subject to each notification.
After Post Basic: M.Sc Nursing
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing graduates can apply for M.Sc Nursing, usually after one year of clinical experience and with at least 55% marks. Entrance exams include AIIMS, PGIMER and CMC Vellore.
