NORCET 11 AIR 46: Ritika Found NORCET in June and Cleared It
She found out the exam existed in mid-June 2026 and cleared it first attempt months later, on two to three mocks a day — and a trick of deliberately skipping questions she knew.

Quick answer: Ritika secured All India Rank 46 in NORCET 11 Mains 2026 on her first attempt. She graduated from Guru Teg Bahadur College of Nursing, Ludhiana in 2023, spent a year on NCLEX coaching and time in private hospitals, and only learned what NORCET actually was in mid-June 2026. She practised 14,400 Question Bank questions and 9,945 across the test series, on two to three mocks every day.
The late start was the hurdle, not a subject
Asked what stood in her way, she did not name pharmacology or OBG. She named a feeling:
That I had started far too late.
She was hearing of students who had been preparing for one or two years, since their degree, while she had not known during her own degree what the exam even was. No syllabus, no sense of which topics mattered in each unit, no idea how to begin.
Her preparation journey and her use of NPrep began at the same moment. There was no earlier phase.
From mid-June to the Mains, first attempt, AIR 46.
Two to three mocks. Every day.
Her daily minimum — and she is clear it was a floor, not a ceiling:
Two or three mock tests every single day, in both the Prelims and Mains phases.
| Question Bank | 14,400 |
| Test series | 9,945 |
| Total | ~24,300 |
What the Mentorship actually removed
Her reason for valuing the programme is not content. It is decision-making:
Once the Mentorship Program began, I no longer had to decide what to study. The day's test was already set.
That removed the daily planning overhead entirely — the half hour every morning spent deciding, and the low-grade anxiety of wondering whether you picked right.
Anjali Joshi at AIR 159 solved the same problem with the Mission NORCET 11 planner, for the same stated reason.
Running two schedules at once
A structural trick worth copying if you are joining a live programme:
- She attended the first session live, 4pm to 8pm
- Then deliberately switched to recorded playback from day two, so she could run her own revision alongside
- She matched her personal revision to whichever subject the programme was covering that day
That alignment is the clever part. Rather than running two unrelated tracks competing for attention, both tracks hit the same subject on the same day — so the programme reinforced her revision instead of interrupting it.
The programme also finished almost exactly as the exam arrived, which she described as very good timing.
Deliberately skipping questions she knew
The most counterintuitive tactic in this entire cohort.
In mock tests she would sometimes skip questions she already knew the answer to — on purpose.
Her reasoning:
Mock marks do not matter. Learning does.
By skipping, she forced herself to read that rationale properly during analysis, rather than scrolling past a question marked correct.
It solves exactly the problem Wakeel Wasil at AIR 22 names — that candidates skip explanations on correct answers — but by changing the incentive rather than relying on discipline.
And it paid off directly: she reports that quite a few questions she encountered late in the mocks, whose rationales she had read, appeared in the Mains.
A caution: this only works if you genuinely do not care about mock scores. If your mock rank is your motivation, as it was for Soniya at AIR 91, this will undermine it.
What each faculty gave her
- Concept simplification: she credited the interviewer with making difficult concepts easy by explaining the full physiology behind them
- Aman Sir: density. He delivers a large volume of facts quickly and covers the ten surrounding topics alongside the main one, which removed her need to go to another source
- Himmat Sir: mnemonics, particularly for Fundamentals and details like catheter sizes. Her point is that these are not things you can generate yourself while studying alone
Exam day felt easier than the mocks
She attempted 150 of 160 questions and felt no stress — only hearing afterwards that others found the paper difficult. She briefly worried she had been overconfident.
That is what two to three daily mocks buys you. The paper was not easier; it was familiar.
Her advice, split
For freshers: do not look at how many seats there are. Focus on knowing more today than yesterday, take little steps, keep consistency. Do not let a day go to waste, because the flow breaks.
For repeaters: identify your own shortcoming honestly, because you know better than anyone what your preparation was like — then strengthen that one thing.
What to take from AIR 46
- A June start can produce AIR 46. Late is not disqualifying.
- Two to three mocks daily compresses the timeline.
- Remove the daily "what should I study" decision.
- Align your own revision with your programme's subject for the day.
- Skip a question you know to force yourself to read its rationale — if mock scores genuinely do not motivate you.
Frequently asked questions
What rank did Ritika get in NORCET 11? All India Rank 46 in NORCET 11 Mains 2026, on her first attempt.
Can you clear NORCET if you start late? Yes. She only learned what NORCET was in mid-June 2026 and cleared it on her first attempt in the same cycle, securing AIR 46.
How many mock tests a day should you give for NORCET? Her minimum was two to three mock tests every single day, across both the Prelims and Mains phases.
Why would you deliberately skip a question you know the answer to? Ritika skipped some known questions in mocks on purpose, because mock marks do not matter but learning does. Skipping forced her to read that rationale properly during analysis instead of scrolling past a correct answer.
How many questions did she practise? Roughly 24,300 in total: 14,400 in the Question Bank and 9,945 across the test series.
