Missed the NORCET 11 Cut Off? Waitlist Facts and Next Steps

10,613 candidates qualified in NORCET 11 Mains. Far more did not. If your roll number is not in that list, here is what actually happens next.

Start here, because most candidates miss it: you can still see your exact score. AIIMS has made individual Stage II scores available in MyPage for everyone who appeared, qualified or not. Knowing your actual number changes what you should do next, so get it before you decide anything.

If You Did Not Qualify, at a Glance

  • You can still see your exact score in MyPage using your Candidate ID and Password
  • Cut off was: 80 marks for UR and EWS, 72 for OBC, 64 for SC and ST, out of 160
  • There is no waiting list for candidates below the cut off
  • Prelims marks do not count towards the final merit
  • No NORCET 12 date has been announced as of 10 October 2026
  • Target for next time: about 99 marks, not the 80 mark qualifying bar

How Do I Confirm Whether I Qualified in NORCET 11 Mains?

Do not conclude anything from the PDF alone.

  1. Open aiimsexams.ac.in from the homepage, not a forwarded link
  2. Find Notification 287/2026 under Notices and search the PDF for your roll number, using Ctrl+F or the search in your PDF reader
  3. Whether or not you find it, log in and open MyPage to see your actual marks, percentage and status
  4. Check your score against your own category threshold below, not the UR one
CategoryQualifying cut offMarks out of 160
UR and EWS50.000%80
OBC45.000%72
SC and ST40.000%64
UR-PwBD45.417%72.7
EWS-PwBD52.917%84.7
OBC-PwBD41.042%65.7
SC-PwBD37.708%60.3

People do misread this. A roll number typed slightly wrong into a PDF search returns nothing, and plenty of candidates have assumed the worst because of it.

How Close Were You Really?

Once you have your score from MyPage, this is what it means against the people who did qualify:

Your marksWhere that sits
75 to 79Below the UR and EWS line, above the OBC and SC and ST lines
70 to 74Below UR, EWS and OBC lines, above SC and ST
64 to 69Clears SC and ST only
Below 64Below every category threshold

Being short by 3 or 4 marks is a very different situation from being short by 25. The first is one or two questions and a cycle of disciplined revision. The second is a preparation problem that needs a different plan, not more of the same. Work out which of the two you are before you decide anything else.

Is There a Waiting List?

There is no published waiting list of candidates who failed to meet the cut off. The qualifying threshold is absolute. If you did not clear your category percentage, you are not in the merit list and no waitlist will reach you.

What does move is within the qualified list. Of the 10,613 who qualified, only about 2,218 posts are available. As candidates ahead decline seats, fail verification or take other offers, candidates further down the qualified list can move up during allotment. That movement is real, but it only applies to people already in the list of 10,613.

For NORCET 10, reports indicated a single allotment round with no separate waiting list published afterwards. Check the NORCET 11 allotment notice from 30 October 2026 for any change in that approach.

Does My Prelims Score Help?

No. The Prelims, Stage I, is purely qualifying. Your final merit comes from the Stage II Mains score alone. A strong Prelims performance does not offset a Mains score below the cut off.

When Is NORCET 12?

No official NORCET 12 date has been announced as of 10 October 2026.

AIIMS ran two full NORCET cycles during 2026, NORCET 10 with its Mains in April and NORCET 11 with its Mains in September. On that cadence the next notification would fall in the first half of 2027. AIIMS has never committed to a fixed annual schedule though, and has shifted timing between cycles before, so treat that as a pattern and not a prediction.

Watch the Notices and Key Dates sections of aiimsexams.ac.in. Treat any specific NORCET 12 date circulating on social media as unverified until it appears there.

Which Other Nursing Officer Exams Can I Apply For?

NORCET is not the only route to a government nursing officer post. These recruiters run their own cycles:

RecruiterWhat it isWhere to check
AIIMS CRECommon Recruitment Examination across AIIMS institutions for Group B and C posts, including nursingaiimsexams.ac.in
RML HospitalDr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi, recruits nursing officers directlyrmlh.nic.in
ESICEmployees State Insurance Corporation hospitals, nationwide nursing officer postsesic.gov.in
State health departmentsEvery state runs its own nursing recruitment through its PSC or health recruitment boardyour state PSC or NHM portal
Railways, defence and PSU hospitalsPeriodic nursing officer vacanciesRRB, AFMS and individual PSU portals

Dates and eligibility differ for each, and none of them follow the NORCET calendar. Check each organisation's own notice rather than relying on aggregator sites.

One practical point in your favour: the NORCET syllabus overlaps heavily with most of these. The preparation you have already done is not wasted, it transfers.

How Do I Improve My Score for the Next NORCET?

If you intend to sit the next cycle, three things matter more than extra study hours.

Fix negative marking first. The Mains is 160 questions in 180 minutes with one third negative marking. Three wrong answers cancel one correct one. Most candidates who land just below the cut off are not short on knowledge, they are losing marks on low-confidence guesses. Work out your own accuracy rate on guessed questions. If it is below about 40%, guessing is costing you marks rather than earning them.

Analyse the paper you just sat. Your MyPage score plus your memory of the paper is the most specific diagnostic you will get. Work out which subjects cost you while it is still fresh. See the NORCET 11 result analysis for where your score sits, and the NORCET 10 Mains exam analysis for subject weightage patterns that carry across cycles.

Know the real target, not the qualifying one. Clearing the cut off is not the goal. The score that actually gets a posting is around 99 marks, and because of the 80:20 reservation it is about 102 for male candidates and 98 for female candidates. Aim at that number, not at 80. The safe score analysis breaks it down by category.

Summary in Hinglish

Agar aap NORCET 11 Mains me qualify nahi kar paye, sabse pehle MyPage me apna actual score check karein. AIIMS ne sabka score daala hai, qualify na karne walon ka bhi.

Koi waiting list nahi hai un candidates ke liye jo cut off clear nahi kar paye. Cut off absolute hai. Waiting list jaisa movement sirf un 10,613 ke andar hota hai jo qualify hue hain.

Prelims ka score final merit me count nahi hota, sirf Mains ka score matter karta hai.

NORCET 12 ki koi official date abhi announce nahi hui hai. Sirf aiimsexams.ac.in par check karein, social media par chal rahi dates verify nahi hain.

Doosre options: AIIMS CRE, RML, ESIC, aur state nursing recruitments. Syllabus kaafi overlap karta hai, to aapki tayyari waste nahi gayi.

Agle attempt ke liye negative marking par kaam karein. 1/3 negative hai, 3 galat = 1 sahi cancel. Aur target 80 marks nahi, around 99 marks rakhein, kyunki selection usi level par hota hai.
