NORCET Result: How to Check, Merit List, Tie-Break | NPrep

NORCET results are published as PDFs on aiimsexams.ac.in, under the Result tab of each NORCET cycle. The Stage I list shows qualified roll numbers with percentile; the Stage II list shows every qualified candidate's percentage and All India Rank. Merit is decided by Stage II alone, and ties go first to the candidate with fewer Stage II wrong answers.

Updated 1 November 2026. Rules are from AIIMS Notice 103/2026 (NORCET 11). Result dates and counts are from AIIMS Result Notifications for NORCET 8 to 11 and AIIMS's 2027 exam calendar.

How do I check my NORCET result?

  1. Open aiimsexams.ac.in and go to Recruitments.
  2. Select the NORCET cycle, for example "Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET-11)".
  3. Open the Result tab. Each stage has its own entry, such as "Result of the Stage-II NORCET-11 Examination held on 30.09.2026".
  4. Open the PDF and search for your roll number (Ctrl+F on a computer).
  5. For your own marks and rank, log in to your dashboard. The NORCET-11 allocation brochure says each qualified candidate is issued a NORCET Individual Result there.

AIIMS does not send results by post. Download the PDF and your individual result on the day they are released.

When does the NORCET result come out?

AIIMS has declared each stage within two weeks of the exam. NPrep counted the gaps from the dates printed on each result notification:

NORCET 12 dates are from AIIMS's tentative 2027 calendar. Earlier cycles have come out close to their calendar dates.

What does each NORCET result PDF show?

Stage I (Prelims) lists the roll numbers called to Stage II, with category, PwBD status and percentile. It is not a merit list. Notice 103/2026 says Stage I "will not be used for deciding Merit/Rank".

AIIMS calls 5 times the seats in each category to Stage II, plus all qualified PwBD candidates and anyone tied with the last candidate called. Clearing the qualifying percentile (50 for UR and EWS, 45 for OBC, 40 for SC and ST, 5 lower for PwBD) is necessary but not enough on its own. In NORCET 11, 12,638 candidates were called to Stage II.

Stage II (Mains) lists every qualified candidate with category, PwBD status, gender, percentage and All India Rank. This is the merit list used for seat allotment. The qualifying marks are 50% for UR and EWS, 45% for OBC and 40% for SC and ST, with 5% less for PwBD.

How is the NORCET merit list prepared?

Notice 103/2026 says the merit list is prepared from Stage II CBT performance only. If Stage II is held in more than one shift, scores are normalised under AIIMS Notice 35/2023.

Being on the merit list does not mean you have a job. The notice says qualifying, merit-list inclusion or a published score "shall not confer any right to appointment". The seat comes from choice filling, allotment and document verification.

How does NORCET tie-breaking work?

When two or more candidates have equal Stage II marks, Notice 103/2026 resolves the tie in this order:

  1. Fewer wrong answers in Stage II. Less negative marking ranks higher.
  2. Higher Stage I marks.
  3. Fewer wrong answers in Stage I.
  4. Date of birth. The older candidate ranks higher.
  5. Alphabetical order of the candidate's name, then father's name, then mother's name, as in the application form.

Several websites and AI answers still put age first. Under the NORCET 11 notice, age is only the fourth tie-breaker. In practice, the rule rewards accuracy: every wrong answer costs a third of a mark and can also cost you a tie.

What is the NORCET selection list?

Searches for a "selection list" usually mean the seat allocation result, which comes after choice filling. For NORCET 10 it was Result Notification 190/2026 on 14 June 2026, with 2,438 seats allotted. It names the institute each candidate was allotted.

What should I do after the NORCET result?

  1. Download the result PDF and your individual result.
  2. Check your rank against past allotments in NORCET marks vs rank.
  3. Get your certificates ready, especially the OBC-NCL or EWS certificate in Central Government format and any NOC.
  4. Fill choices when AIIMS invites them. See the NORCET choice filling and allotment guide.
