Is NORCET Only for AIIMS? Participating Institutes | NPrep

No, NORCET is not only for AIIMS. NORCET 11 recruited Nursing Officers for 19 AIIMS institutes (including AIIMS-CAPFIMS, with AIIMS Madurai added by addendum), plus JIPMER, ESIC Hospital New Delhi, central government hospitals in Delhi such as Safdarjung and Dr. RML, NITRD New Delhi and CIP Ranchi. One NORCET rank is used for all of them in a single round of seat allocation.

Which AIIMS take part in NORCET?

The NORCET 11 notice lists these 19 AIIMS: Avantipora, Bathinda, Bhopal, Bilaspur, Bhubaneswar, Deoghar, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Kalyani, Mangalagiri, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Rae Bareli, Raipur, Rewari, Rishikesh, Vijaypur (Jammu) and AIIMS-CAPFIMS (Maidangarhi, New Delhi). AIIMS Madurai was added through Addendum 35/2026.

Not every AIIMS reports vacancies in every cycle. The notice says institutes not listed may join before the closing date, and any published vacancy can be withdrawn.

Which other hospitals recruit through NORCET?

The NORCET 11 Stage I result names the recruiters: all AIIMS and CAPFIMS, VMMC and Safdarjung and other central government hospitals in New Delhi, JIPMER Puducherry, ESIC New Delhi, NITRD New Delhi and CIP Ranchi. Recent allocation results also show:

• JIPMER campuses at Puducherry, Karaikal and Yanam
• Delhi central government hospitals: Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. RML Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC and SSKH) and Kalawati Saran Children's Hospital (KSCH)

Seat numbers swing a lot between cycles. ESIC New Delhi went from 802 seats in NORCET 9 to 216 in NORCET 10, and AIIMS Patna from 12 to 159. Check the seat position AIIMS publishes before every choice-filling round.

Is eligibility the same for every institute?

Not always. Notice 103/2026 says a candidate may qualify NORCET but not be eligible for some or all participating institutes, and choices are invited only from candidates eligible under each institute's criteria. Read each institute's terms in the notice before filling choices.

At participating AIIMS, 80% of seats are reserved for women and 20% for men. See NORCET for male candidates.

How are NORCET institutes allotted?

1. AIIMS publishes the final seat position and the allocation procedure.
2. Qualified candidates fill institute choices online in order of preference.
3. Seats are allotted once, in order of Stage II rank, against your choices and the seats in your category.
4. Allotted candidates accept online and upload documents; institutes then verify originals and issue appointment letters.

There is only one round and no waiting list. Notice 103/2026 warns that not joining an allotted seat cancels your candidature for that NORCET, so fill only institutes you will actually join. For the current cycle, see NORCET 11 choice filling and seat allotment.

Is there a second round of NORCET seat allocation?

No. Notice 103/2026 says there will generally be one round of allocation and no waiting list, because NORCET is held twice a year.

Can I get ESIC or Safdarjung through NORCET?

Yes. ESIC Hospital New Delhi and Safdarjung Hospital have both recruited through NORCET allocation, subject to your rank, category, choices and their eligibility rules.
