How to Apply for NORCET: Steps, Fee, Documents | NPrep

You apply for NORCET only online, at aiimsexams.ac.in, during the window given in each AIIMS notice. For NORCET 11 it ran from 24 July to 13 August 2026, up to 5 PM. The fee was ₹3,000 for General and OBC, ₹2,400 for SC, ST and EWS, and nil for PwBD. No corrections are accepted after submission.

Updated 1 November 2026. All rules, fees and dates are from AIIMS Notice 103/2026 dated 24 July 2026 (NORCET 11). NORCET 12 dates are from AIIMS's 2027 calendar; the notice month is an estimate.

Who can apply for NORCET?

You need one of these, from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council recognised institute:

  1. B.Sc (Hons) Nursing, B.Sc Nursing, or B.Sc (Post-Certificate) / Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing, plus registration as a Nurse and Midwife with a State or Indian Nursing Council.
  2. GNM diploma, plus Nurse and Midwife registration, plus two years' experience in a hospital of at least 50 beds. The experience must come after the course, the result and the council registration.

Everything, including the experience, must be complete by the closing date of the application. For more, read the NORCET eligibility guide.

What is the age relaxation for NORCET?

CategoryRelaxation
SC, ST5 years
OBC3 years
PwBD10 years
PwBD + OBC13 years
PwBD + SC/ST15 years
Ex-servicemenLength of military service plus 3 years

Age is counted on the closing date of online registration. SC, ST and OBC candidates who apply against unreserved seats get no age relaxation.

How do I fill the NORCET application form?

  1. Log in or register. If you registered for any earlier AIIMS exam, you must use that old ID or One Time Registration. Notice 103/2026 says an application under a different registration ID will be rejected.
  2. Fill your details carefully. Category cannot be corrected from SC/ST to UR/OBC/EWS once the fee is paid, and corrections are not accepted by email or letter.
  3. Upload photo, signature and thumb impression exactly as the "Upload Image Instructions" on the portal say. The notice warns that images not as per the instructions lead to rejection.
  4. Upload certificates where the form asks: category certificate, PwBD certificate, and NOC if you are a government employee.
  5. Pay the fee online. Bank processing charges, if any, are extra.
  6. Save the registration slip and payment proof. You will need the signed registration slip again at allotment.

Do not post anything to AIIMS. The notice says physical documents "will be treated as null and void and will be destroyed".

Which documents do I need for NORCET?

DocumentRule for NORCET 11
Photo, signature, thumb impressionAs per the portal's Upload Image Instructions
Date of birth proofClass 10 certificate or equivalent
Qualification and council registrationB.Sc or GNM certificate and State or Indian Nursing Council registration
Experience certificate (GNM)From the head of the organisation, with bed count, dates and pay
OBC-NCL certificateCentral List, Central Government format, for FY 2026-27, issued 1 April to 13 August 2026

PwBD certificateBenchmark disability of at least 40%
NOCMandatory if you work in a government, PSU or autonomous body, including on contract

A state OBC certificate is not valid. If your OBC-NCL is not renewed in time, the notice allows the older certificate plus the renewal acknowledgement, with the valid one produced later within AIIMS's deadline. See the full NORCET documents checklist.

What happens after you apply?

These were the NORCET 11 dates from Notice 103/2026:

StepDate
Online registration24 July to 13 August 2026
NOC upload deadline18 August 2026
Application status (accepted to appear)24 August 2026
Exam city information3 September 2026
Admit card upload9 September 2026
Stage I CBT12 September 2026
Stage II CBT30 September 2026

NPrep counted the gap between notice and exam in the last two cycles: NORCET 10's notice (17/2026) came on 24 February 2026, 46 days before Stage I on 11 April. NORCET 11's notice came on 24 July 2026, 50 days before Stage I on 12 September. NORCET 12 Stage I is on 10 April 2027, so the same gap points to a notice in late February 2027.

For the admit card step, see the NORCET admit card guide.

Is the NORCET fee refundable?

Only for SC and ST candidates who appear in the exam. Notice 103/2026 says their fee is refunded after the results, once the SC/ST certificate is verified. For everyone else, the fee "shall not be refunded under any circumstances", and it is forfeited if you turn out to be ineligible.

What are the common reasons NORCET forms get rejected?

  • Photo, signature or thumb impression not as per the instructions
  • Applying with a new ID when an old AIIMS registration exists
  • Missing or late NOC for government employees
  • Qualification, registration or GNM experience not complete by the closing date
  • A category certificate in the wrong format or issued outside the allowed dates
