RRB Nursing Superintendent Exam Date: CBT on 23 and 25 November 2026

Quick answer: The RRB Nursing Superintendent CBT is scheduled for 23 and 25 November 2026, under CEN 05/2026 (Paramedical Categories). Railway Recruitment Boards confirmed this in a notice dated 18 October 2026. The schedule is marked tentative. Nursing Superintendent is the largest category in this CEN, with 365 of the 590 posts.

If you were expecting March 2026 dates, you are thinking of a different recruitment. Those belonged to CEN 03/2025. The two are explained below.

What is official on this page, and what is not. The exam dates, the ten day and four day admit card sequence, and the Aadhaar rules below are taken directly from the RRB notice dated 18 October 2026, titled "Notice regarding tentative schedule of Computer Based Test (CBT) for Paramedical Categories under CEN 05/2026", signed by the Chairpersons, Railway Recruitment Boards. Vacancy, eligibility, pay and exam pattern figures come from the CEN 05/2026 notification and published reporting, and are marked as such where they appear. RRB itself calls the schedule tentative, so nothing here is a guarantee of a final date.

Which recruitment is this? The part most aspirants are getting wrong

This is the single most common confusion right now, and it is worth two minutes.

There are two separate Nursing Superintendent recruitments in play, and they have different numbers, different exams and different dates.

If you applied between 15 September and 14 October 2026, you are in CEN 05/2026 and the November dates are yours.

If you sat a CBT in March 2026, that was CEN 03/2025, and this notice does not change anything for you. Our earlier post on the CEN 03/2025 exam schedule covers that cycle.

What "tentative" actually means here

RRB uses the word deliberately, and it is not a formality.

A tentative schedule means the dates can move, and RRBs have moved paramedical dates before. What it does commit to is the sequence: the exam city and date link opens roughly ten days out, and e-call letters follow roughly four days out. Those two gaps are the reliable part.

The practical reading: plan your revision against 23 November, but do not book non refundable travel until your exam city link is live and shows your actual centre and shift.

Your timeline from here

Working backwards from the notice, and treating 23 November as the first exam day:

Roughly whenWhat happensWhat you do
Around 13 NovemberExam city and date link goes live. SC/ST candidates can download Travel AuthorityCheck your city and shift. Plan travel now, not earlier
Around 19 NovemberE-call letter (admit card) download opensDownload it, print it, check every detail against your Aadhaar
23 NovemberCBT, day oneReach early. Biometric authentication takes time
25 NovemberCBT, day two

Both windows are "around". RRB's own wording is "around 10 days prior" and "around 4 days prior".

How to check your exam city, shift and date

  1. Go to rrb.indianrailways.gov.in and open your regional RRB's website, or go to rrbapply.gov.in
  2. Find the CEN 05/2026 exam city and date intimation link
  3. Log in with your registration number and date of birth
  4. Check your exam city, exam date and shift timing, and download the Travel Authority if you are SC or ST

How to download your e-call letter

  1. Return to the same portal around four days before your exam date
  2. Open the e-call letter link for CEN 05/2026 and log in with the same credentials
  3. Download and print it, then check your name, photo, date of birth and reporting time against your Aadhaar
  4. Carry the printout with your original Aadhaar to the centre

The Aadhaar requirement people are ignoring

Five of the eight points in the notice are about Aadhaar. That is not padding, and it is the most likely reason a prepared candidate gets held up at the gate.

What the notice actually requires:

  • Aadhaar linked biometric authentication happens at the centre, before you enter the exam hall.
  • Carry your original Aadhaar card or a printout of e-verified Aadhaar.
  • If you have not authenticated your identity through Aadhaar verification yet, do it by logging in at rrbapply.gov.in.
  • Your Aadhaar must be in an unlocked condition in the UIDAI system before you travel. This applies even if you already verified Aadhaar when you applied.
  • The Aadhaar should carry the correct name, date of birth as per your 10th certificate, latest photo, address and father's name.
  • If your biometrics were not updated after you turned 15, update them.

How to unlock your Aadhaar biometrics, since this is the step the notice assumes you know:

  1. Open the mAadhaar app, or go to the UIDAI portal at uidai.gov.in
  2. Find Lock/Unlock Biometrics under your Aadhaar services
  3. Authenticate with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number
  4. Set the status to unlocked and keep it unlocked until after 25 November

If your mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar, you cannot do this online and will need an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. That is a trip, not a click, which is the reason to check now.

The locked Aadhaar point is the one that catches people. A locked biometric will fail at the centre, and the fix is not something you can do in the queue. Check it this week, not on 22 November.

The 590 posts, and where Nursing Superintendent sits

CEN 05/2026 covers nine paramedical categories. Nursing Superintendent is by some distance the largest.

CategoryPosts
Nursing Superintendent365
Pharmacist (Entry Grade)118
Health and Malaria Inspector Gr. II43
Other six categoriesRemainder of 590

That 365 figure is worth holding onto, because it means roughly 62% of this entire CEN is your post. A paramedical notification is not usually a nursing notification. This one effectively is.

Note on a number you may have seen: an earlier figure of 372 circulated when the vacancies were first sanctioned. The notification figure is 365. Use 365.

RRB Nursing Superintendent exam pattern and negative marking

The CBT is a single paper. There is no separate Prelims and Mains in this recruitment.

ItemDetail
Questions100 objective questions
Marks100
Duration90 minutes
Duration for PwBD candidates using a scribe120 minutes
Negative markingOne third of a mark for each wrong answer

Subject split:

SectionQuestions
Professional Ability (nursing)70
General Awareness10
General Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning10
General Science10

Two things follow from that table. Seventy of the hundred questions are nursing, so your subject knowledge carries the paper. And with one third negative marking, a blind guess costs you more than it returns, which matters in the last ten minutes when the temptation is to fill everything in.

One caveat worth stating: most published sources give negative marking as one third, but at least one gives 0.25. Confirm it on your own e-call letter and the CEN 05/2026 notification, both of which state the marking scheme.

Quick eligibility and pay recap

If you are reading this after applying, treat it as a check rather than news.

What to do with the weeks you have left

From the date of the notice there are roughly five weeks to the first CBT. That is a revision window, not a syllabus window.

1. Stop adding new sources. Five weeks is not enough to absorb a new book and still revise it. Whatever you prepared from between September and now is your material.

2. Work backwards from the pattern, not the syllabus. Go to the exam pattern and important topics breakdown and rank topics by weightage, then give your weakest high weightage topic the most time.

3. Practise on a screen. It is a CBT. Practising on paper trains a different motion than working against a clock on a computer.

4. Use previous year papers as a diagnostic. They tell you which topics repeat. Our previous year papers and mock test strategy has the approach.

5. Fix the Aadhaar thing today. It takes ten minutes and it is the only item on this list that can end your attempt before a single question loads.

For a fuller plan, the RRB Nursing Superintendent preparation strategy covers how to structure these weeks.

Where to verify, and who not to trust

The notice closes with two warnings worth repeating, because they are RRB's own words and not ours.

Refer only to the official RRB websites for updates on this recruitment. And be aware of touts who promise appointment for money. RRB selection is through the CBT and on merit alone. Nobody can sell you a railway job.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RRB Nursing Superintendent exam date 2026? The CBT is scheduled for 23 and 25 November 2026 under CEN 05/2026 (Paramedical Categories), per the RRB notice dated 18 October 2026. The schedule is tentative.

Is the RRB Nursing Superintendent exam on 24 November as well? No. The RRB notice lists two exam days, 23 November 2026 and 25 November 2026. Some websites have published three days. The notice names two.

When will the RRB Paramedical exam city slip and admit card release? The exam city and date link, which also carries the Travel Authority for SC/ST candidates, goes live around 10 days before the exam, so roughly 13 November 2026. The e-call letter download opens around 4 days before, so roughly 19 November 2026.

How many Nursing Superintendent vacancies are there in CEN 05/2026? 365 of the 590 total posts in the CEN, making it the largest of the nine paramedical categories. An earlier sanctioned figure of 372 circulated before the notification; the notification figure is 365.

Why do some pages show a March 2026 exam date for RRB Nursing Superintendent? Those refer to CEN 03/2025, a separate and now concluded recruitment of 272 Nursing Superintendent posts whose CBT was held in March 2026. CEN 05/2026 is a different recruitment with 365 posts and a November 2026 CBT.

What Aadhaar documents are needed for the RRB Paramedical CBT? Aadhaar linked biometric authentication is done at the centre before entry. Carry your original Aadhaar card or a printout of e-verified Aadhaar. Your Aadhaar must be unlocked in the UIDAI system, and if biometrics were not updated after age 15 they should be updated.

Can the RRB Nursing Superintendent exam date change? Yes. RRB has marked the schedule tentative, and paramedical dates have moved before. The sequence is more dependable than the date: city intimation around 10 days out, e-call letter around 4 days out.

What is the exam pattern for RRB Nursing Superintendent under CEN 05/2026? A single CBT of 100 objective questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes, with 120 minutes for PwBD candidates using a scribe. The split is 70 Professional Ability, 10 General Awareness, 10 General Arithmetic and Reasoning, and 10 General Science. Negative marking is one third of a mark per wrong answer in most published sources, so confirm it on your e-call letter.

How do I unlock my Aadhaar biometrics before the RRB CBT? Open the mAadhaar app or the UIDAI portal at uidai.gov.in, go to Lock/Unlock Biometrics, authenticate with the OTP sent to your Aadhaar registered mobile number, and set the status to unlocked. If your mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar you will need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra, so check early.

Exam dates, the admit card sequence and the Aadhaar requirements on this page are from the RRB notice dated 18 October 2026 regarding the tentative CBT schedule for Paramedical Categories under CEN 05/2026. Vacancy, eligibility and pay details are from the CEN 05/2026 notification. Verify against rrb.indianrailways.gov.in before acting on any date.
