How to Choose and Select Your NORCET Exam Center

The process of selecting your exam center is done online during the NORCET application process. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. During Application: When you fill out the NORCET form, you will be asked to choose your preferred exam city from a dropdown menu.
  2. First-Allot-First-Serve Basis: This is the most critical point. Centers are allotted on a "first-allot-first-serve" basis. This means the earlier you complete your application and pay the fee, the higher your chances of getting your most preferred city.

Expert Tips for Choosing Your Center

Choosing a city isn't just about picking the closest one. A little planning goes a long way.

  • Proximity and Travel Time: Choose a city that you can travel to easily, preferably a day in advance to avoid last-minute rush and travel fatigue.

  • Familiarity: If possible, pick a city where you have relatives or friends, or one you have visited before. This reduces the stress of navigating a new place.

  • Connectivity: Ensure the city is well-connected by train or bus if you are traveling from a smaller town.

  • "From our experience, major metro cities like Delhi/NCR, Lucknow, and Jaipur are the first to get filled. Aspirants targeting these centers should aim to complete their application within the first 48-72 hours of the registration window opening. Do not wait for the last date!"

  • "Another crucial tip: Once your admit card is released, immediately check the full address of your allotted center on Google Maps. A city can have multiple centers, and sometimes a center can be on the outskirts. Knowing the exact location and travel time from your stay (hotel/relative's house) a week in advance will save you from exam-day panic."

Your Center is Chosen. Now, Secure Your Rank.
